The Indian government is currently under scrutiny for its human rights situation before the Human Rights Council of the United Nations. As part of the so-called Universal Periodic Review (UPR), different actors can submit reports alleging violations, on the basis of which other member states will be asking questions and to which the Indian government will have to respond. In that context, the India Justice Project in cooperation with the London Mining Network, Adivasi Koordination Deutschland, Human Rights Defenders Alert India, India Civil Watch International, International South Asia Forum, International Solidarity for Academic Freedom in India, the London Story and Survival International made a submission on the devastating human rights situation in Chhattisgarh, which you may find below.
